was developed by Dr. Carolyn McMakin in 1995 using frequencies
passed on from an osteopath in Canada who had a practice that
came with a machine made in the 1920’s.
Dr. McMakin developed protocols for the treatment of myofascial
pain in 1996 and presented her clinical data at the American Back
Society national meeting in December 1997. She published paper
on the "Treatment of chronic resistant myofascial pain in
the head neck and face." in 1998 in Topics in Clinical Chiropractic.
Dr. McMakin began teaching FSM in 1997 to see if the effects of
FSM were reproducible..
The frequencies were developed in the early 1900's and used with
funky looking electronic equipment that fell out of use in the
1940's. Microcurrent was introduced as a battery operated physical
therapy modality in the 1980's in Europe and the US. Microcurrent
devices deliver frequencies and current in millionths of an amp
and have been shown in published studies to increase energy (ATP)
production in cells by 500%.

Frequency protocol development began in 1995 and Dr. McMakin began
teaching FSM in 1997. Since then hundreds of practitioners around
the world have taken the FSM seminar and use this amazing new technique
to help patients recover from myofascial pain, fibromyalgia, sports
injuries, concussion and many other health concerns.
Protocols for treating neuropathic pain were developed by Dr. McMakin
in 1998. She then developed a protocol for treating the full body
pain from fibromyalgia caused by neck injuries in 1999. The paper
was published in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies
in July of 2005. It documents unheard of changes in inflammatory
cytokines and neuropeptides with the use of a specific frequency
protocol and microcurrent application.
Dr. McMakin has spoken at fibromyalgia conferences and medical
and alternative medicine meetings around the US, in England and
Australia. She presented the cervical trauma fibromyalgia treatment
data at the National Institutes of Health.
"FSM is a passion for me. Our practitioners are helping
patients recover from conditions that cannot be treated using
any other modality."
FSM has changed what is possible in pain management. FSM can treat
chronic myofascial pain quickly, easily and comfortably. Nerve
pain from nerve traction injuries, disc bulges and herniations
and herpes and shingles can be treated successfully by FSM practitioners.
are protocols for kidney stone pain, disc and facet joint generated
pain that give rapid and often lasting relief. The protocol for
fibromyalgia associated with neck trauma offers pain relief, unprecedented
changes in inflammatory cytokines and hope for the 2 million patients
who suffer from this condition.
There are never any promises with medical procedures but Frequency
Specific Microcurrent offers hope.
You'll see why our motto is, "It's easy to walk on water
once you know where the rocks are."
Sports Medicine and Frequency Specific Microcurrent
the world now athletes from many sports are using FSM in record
numbers. The results are impressive and consistent. Chronic injuries
clear up in record time. FSM can remodel scar tissue in one sixty
minute session that would take months to do manually.New injuries
heal in record time.
Imagine these benefits applied to new injuries and you can see
why Jeff Spencer takes his FSM training and his FSM units with him
when he treats the US Postal team on the Tour de France.
